Why You Should Get Married in Mexico
If you haven’t heard, we’re giving away a trip for two to Puerto Vallarta this month (airfare included!) So this got us thinking about beaches and sunsets and well of course we ended up talking about how much we love destination weddings in Mexico. If you’re recently engaged and just started wedding planning, here’s our top 5 reasons to consider a destination wedding in Mexico!
Sure, most countries in the Caribbean/Gulf of Mexico region have great beaches. But we particularly enjoy the Colonial Spanish romance that flows throughout the country of Mexico. Areas like Cancun and Playa del Carmen are widely known for their excellent resorts and offer lots of fun activities such as snorkeling and jet skiing that wedding guests and honeymooners will enjoy. Or you can check out the Pacific Coast and visit the beautiful resort towns of Puerto Vallarta or Los Cabos. You can even do fun activities such as whale watching! The best part about this side of Mexico is that you’ll have the gorgeous mountain terrain as a backdrop as well!
If you have a tropical destination wedding in mind, then we’re sure that you’re thinking of getting some romantic wedding photos with the sunset. Mexico will provide you will some amazing photo opps that will help you relive your special day each time you open your wedding album. And as we mentioned before, the resort towns on the Pacific Coast of Mexico are exceptionally stunning!
Whether you’re a couple that’s interested in history, the arts or ancient architecture, Mexico has plenty of opportunities for you and your wedding guests to explore. Be sure to do your research so that you can pick the city that best meets your interests. If you’re more interested in museums or the Mayan ruins, you should plan your wedding on the east coast of Mexico. For a more relaxed, old-Spanish setting you should definitely consider resort towns like Puerto Vallarta. Take a seaside stroll with your loved one through the Malecon and explore the vibrant Spanish culture that lives throughout the restaurants, bars and boutiques along the strip!
Mexico continues to be a popular choice for destination weddings and honeymoons because there are so many well established resources and attractions. So the resorts make it their top priority to provide excellent service for hotel guests and wedding parties. And with so much competition in the area, these hotels and resorts are becoming more and more lux and exotic. Once you have an idea of where in Mexico you’d be interested in tying the knot, look for a local wedding planner. They’re likely to have excellent knowledge and connections with the best hotels in resorts to get you the best value for your wedding event—like the Meliá Hotels & Resorts in Puerto Vallarta.
Stress-Free Marriage Requirements
Wedding planning in general can be stressful, but planning a destination wedding adds a few extra tasks to your to-do list. As long as you complete all of the requirements, obtaining a legal marriage license that is recognized by your home is pretty simple. Most wedding planners and hotel concierges can actually help facilitate the entire process.
