Rustic and Romantic Colorado Engagement Shoot with Majestic Mountain Views
Molly was the new girl at work. From the moment Jason saw her, he was smitten. He kept finding excuses to walk over to her desk and talk to her. Molly adored his smile and their conversations. It didn’t take long for friends and coworkers to rally around this spectacular duo. The fun-loving couple, who have been together for four years, know each other well. As Molly says, “Making life fun is key, and the stitching that holds our relationship together more than anything else is our ability to make each other laugh and never let life’s stresses get in the way for our love for each other.”
They spend their time with family, friends and their pets. Both also enjoy spending the day out on the lake in their hometown of Kremmling, Colorado. When they want more excitement they’ll have football games with friends and barbecue.
An Unexpected Proposal
Jason had big plans for his proposal to Molly. They had a camping trip scheduled for the coming weekend, and Jason had the perfect picturesque spot in mind to ask her the big question. Molly had no idea that he was even thinking about asking her to marry him. A call from Molly’s mom changed almost all of Jason’s plans. Molly, not knowing what was in her future, got a call from her mom asking if she could visit. Of course, she told her mom that it would be fine for her to drop on by. She and Jason could go camping another time. Shortly after Molly’s mom and step-dad showed up to the house, Jason, who had been there, pacing back and forth (Molly couldn’t understand why he was so anxious!), grabbed her parents, Molly, and their dog, and then drove them all up to the local cliffs. They arrived just as the sun was setting. He and Molly walked to the edge, he got down on one knee. He asked. They both cried, and with tears in her eyes, she said, yes!
Bucolic Engagement Shoot
After linking up with photographer Haley Allen (who lives a few hours from the couple), Molly and Jason decided on a picturesque location off of the beaten path outside of the town of Blackhawk to shoot their engagement session. The open field they picked provides panoramic views of the mountains. The couple wanted to celebrate their country roots—both grew up in a small town. Jason’s family raises draft horses and they participate in every local fair and rodeo. Decked in flannel shirts, a camouflage ball cap and cowboy boots, these die-hard westerners had the perfect amount of country flair without being kitschy. For the shoot, Molly and Jason did what they do best…had fun with it! Their favorite shot is of Jason giving his fiancé an impromptu dip and kiss.
What’s Next For Molly And Jason
With this shoot setting the tone, the couple is planning a classic, romantic country wedding at a family ranch, complete with a hayfield and picturesque mountain views. Using Jason’s family horses, Molly and her parents will arrive in a white horse and carriage. The perfect Cinderella entrance for a storybook couple.
