Meghan Markle Has to Do THIS for 6 Months Now That She’s Royal
Royal protocol is serious
You’d think now that the Royal Wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle has drawn to a close, all the royal protocol and Royal Wedding surprises would be behind us. Alas, seems like that may never happen, because the Duchess of Sussex has to fulfill a request from the Queen: six months of royal protocol lessons.
It’s probably okay though, because the Queen also gave the freshly minted royal couple this lavish gift, and we’d happily exchange a few months of royal protocol lessons for a mansion any day of the week.
According to the Daily Mail, one of the queen’s trusted aides, Samantha Cohen, was asked to instruct Markle on how to be an upstanding, rule-abiding member of the royal family. Aside from the royal protocol tips and tricks, Cohen, a 49 year old mother of three, has been asked to move into Kensington Palace, Harry and Meghan’s new residence, to be especially hands-on.
Royal protocol can seem strange and unnecessary to outside-born, regular humans, but they’re an integral part of keeping up the monarchy’s appearance and important enough to warrant a mini-university on the topic. Meghan will have to learn that she can eat only when the Queen eats (is that how the princesses stay so svelte?), curtsying when she enters a room, and all the royal hat etiquette that probably is meaningless to laymen.
We’re eager to celebrate Meghan’s graduation!
