Romantic Engagement Shoot in Fort Myers, Florida by Anastasiia Photography
I absolutely loved photo shooting this very loving couple! I wanted to perfectly capture how much love they have for each other (and their dogs!) and was so excited to try out some great areas in Fort Myers, Florida. We started at Koreshan Park for some beautiful pictures with the gorgeous greenery as a backdrop. We then went to a field for to take some pictures with a very rustic feel, and finally ended at the beach where Anthony and Mandy’s love radiated.
In the words of the bride-to-be:
“He proposed on the 3-year anniversary of the first day we met (which also happens to be the 4th of July). We planned a weekend trip to my family’s house in Key West and brought along our two dogs – Cody and Gretchen. We spent our weekend boating and swimming along sandbars! The evening of our anniversary, he asked if I wanted to take a walk around the property and watch the sunset. We walked along and ended up stopping and sitting on the steps of a little grotto area and looked out onto the water together. Next thing I know he stands up and takes my hand so I will stand too and then he got down on one knee- after that it was a big, perfect blur! We spent the night celebrating and watching the fireworks light up the sky. At the very end of the night, we lit a Chinese lantern together, made a wish for our future as husband and wife, and sent it off with love!”
The Engagement Photos
Mandy and Anthony knew they wanted to have their two dogs, Cody and Gretchen, included in some of their pictures! Mandy found a cute bow-tie for Cody and made Gretchen a little headband. They are their two little loves and such a huge part of their life – they were so happy to get their first family pictures!
“One of my favorite photographs is of us on the beach, facing each other and I am on my tip toes with my arms wrapped around his neck. This picture is so special to me because when I look at it, it feels just like us, how we are together every day. During this picture, he was whispering to me all of the things that he couldn’t wait to eat for dinner later that night and I couldn’t stop laughing and smiling! He is always finding ways to make me laugh and I’m usually on my tip toes giving him hugs!”
What’s Next for Mandy and Anthony
“We hope that our wedding will feel very romantic, rustic, and unique. When we started our search for our wedding venue, we were really hoping to find a place that felt like “us”. It didn’t take too long to find our perfect place and we ending up choosing to get married at a historic home along the water! We can’t wait for October 15th!”
About the Author
My name is Anastasiia. Though I am a photographer, I also consider myself to be a storyteller. The truth is, most photographers can shoot nice portraits. But it takes a lot more than that to capture a story – the way he looks at you when he sees you for the first time, the glistening of your father’s tear-filled eyes during the father-daughter dance, or the smug expression of the flower girl who thinks that this wedding is for her as she meanders down the aisle. What I’m passionate about is capturing every raw, beautiful, funny, heartfelt, romantic, emotional moment that takes place on the most important day of your life. Though every wedding day has to come to an end, photographs have the incredible ability to live on forever, allowing us to remember and re-live every special moment.
