This Dog in a Wedding Dress is Friendship Goals
Ruby is the cutest dog in a wedding dress ever
Are you sitting down and ready for a giant smile that’ll make you fall even more in love with dogs? We hope so, because Ruby, the nine year old King Charles Spaniel best friend of bride Amanda Ruisi, is the kind of furry best friend dreams are made of. We’re talking about bridal party levels of goodness, and take-the-pup-along for a dog friendly honeymoon levels of commitment. She was the official flower dog of the Ruisi-Sorrentino wedding, and we think a trendsetter in the dogs in wedding dresses movement.
The stunning beachside wedding in Bal Harbour, Florida was everything you might expect out of a fairytale — except it was capped off by Ruisi’s squeeze-worthy little Ruby stealing the show as the official flower dog, and a bridesmaid-esque dog in a wedding dress. We’re not at all kidding, and we think you’re about to totally melt over the photos.
“Ruby’s dress was from Rubies Costumes,” explained Amanda. “A dear friend of mine had sent it to me for her in advance of the wedding. My wedding designer, Karla Dascal, had her team create a custom peony collar for Ruby that matched my wedding bouquet.”
Nobody in Ruisi’s family seemed surprised to have Ruby play such a prominent role in the affair, and groom Robert Sorrentino seemed downright excited to have so much furry support.
“Our family and friends know how important Ruby is to us,” shared Amanda of her hundred-person affair, “So they were just delighted to see her very important role as flower dog, in her white wedding gown walking down the peony covered aisle, with my brother Greg the ring bearer.”
The bride, founder of AKR Public Relations, knows about creating good stories and memorable moments — something she prides herself on doing for her lifestyle clients.
