A Detroit Institute of Arts Wedding to Remember
Ryan & Zachary’s Detroit Institute of Arts wedding was one to remember
When Ryan McClure and Zachary Miller first hit it off at Ohio State University, they didn’t expect to be walking down the aisle together years later. Eventually the couple would hit it off, both move to New York, deepen their love, get engaged, and decide to get married in Michigan, Ryan’s home.
Their gorgeous Detroit Institute of Arts wedding took place in the heart of downtown Detroit, and gave their guests a taste of the architecture, history, and ambiance that Ryan has loved all along. After all, she’s a self-proclaimed “art nerd” who works in the art field, and knew that being surrounded by Rivera murals would be the sweetest touch for her love-bound crowd.
“We wanted our wedding to be a memorable, classic, black tie event, and a great party,” shared Ryan of their Detroit Institute of Arts wedding ceremony and reception.
Ryan wore a beautiful Austin Scarlett dress from Ashley & Alexandria’s Bridal Boutique in Southfield, Michigan. This was an especially memorable and sentimental touch because Ryan’s parents, Elvin and Vinnie McClure own the bridal boutique. The photographer, Heather Jowett, captured touching, personal moments from the couple, family members, and onlookers.
“We worked with the Detroit Institute of Arts to pick the menu. Guests indulged in lamb chops, crab cakes as well as a duo of chicken and beef for our guests. The wedding cake was marble and made to mirror the halls of the Detroit Institute of Arts,” McClure said of the over-the-top affair.
We loved Ryan’s bold, big wedding bouquet in understated white, the groom’s elegant black tux, and the very clear love they share.
