We caught up with Kathryn Money, Vice President of Strategy and Merchandising at Brilliant Earth, to get the scoop on what really makes a perfect engagement ring — and we’re proud to be debunking some of the most common engagement ring myths.
Myth: Engagement rings have to cost three months’ salary.

Fact: “Today, most couples are more realistic when it comes to their expectations of engagement rings,” shares Kathryn. “With the rising cost of real estate, travel, weddings and other expenses, engagement rings are just one of many significant steps in starting a life together, so opt for a ring that fits your personal budget.”
