10 Wedding Cocktails for Summer Weddings by LIQS
The days are getting warmer and you know what that means – wedding season is upon us! If you’re having an outdoor summer wedding, there are a few things to take in to consideration for your guests so that they stay refreshed. When it comes to choosing a wedding cocktail menu or signature beverages it is very important to consider what time of day you are having your wedding reception. Guests are least likely to drink strong drinks during the day and are more likely looking for something refreshing. Here are 10 delicious wedding cocktail options that are perfect for your wedding day!
Champagne Wedding Cocktails
Common cocktails that are served in the morning tend to center around champagne, such as the classic mimosas and bellinis. But you don’t have to stop there! There are several ways to mix champagne cocktails into your reception menu to ensure that your guests have a great time!
Raspberry Champagne Punch
Combine 1 can of raspberry lemonade concentrate, 1 bottle of chilled champagne, 3 cups of ginger ale, ½ cup of vodka, and a pint of fresh raspberries. Pour into glasses garnished with a lime or lemon wedge. This cocktail is not only great for your wedding, but for your bridal shower as well!
Ginger Grapefruit Sparkler
Pour 1 ounce of fresh grapefruit juice and ½ ounce of ginger liqueur into a champagne flute and top with 3-4 ounces of champagne.
What if I don’t want champagne, you ask? Of course, there are always other cocktail recipes!
1-ounce vodka, 3-ounce tomato juice, 2 red hot sauce, 2 green hot sauce, a dash of Worcestershire sauce, 0.5-ounces of lemon juice, a pinch of salt, a pinch of pepper and a stalk of celery. If you like to decorate the rim of your glass with salt and pepper mix then this is definitely the perfect drink for that. For some more added fun, create a Bloody Mary bar so your guests can make their own!
Vodka Pineapple Cocktail
In a wide-mouthed pitcher, muddle 4 sprigs mint and quartered limes with ½ cup of sugar. Add 2 cups of fresh pineapple juice and 1 ¼ cups of vodka and top with about 3 cups of seltzer. Garnish with a slice of pineapple and a few extra mint leaves.
Mix 2 parts vodka, 2 parts cranberry raspberry juice, 1 part Cointreau, and 1 part lime juice. Pour in a glass with fresh raspberries.
Sparkling Pear and Cranberry Cocktail

Peach Rose Sangria

Tequila and Whiskey Cocktails
As for the evening wedding receptions, you can make the cocktails much stronger using liquors such as tequila and whiskey. Here are two classics with a bit of a twist!
Peach Mint Old Fashioned
Muddle 1 slices of peaches, ½ ounce simple syrup, 3-4 mint leaves, and 5 dashes of bitters in a glass. Fill the glass with ice, add bourbon and stir to combine. Top with a splash of club soda and garnish with peach slice and mint sprig.
Tequila Sunrise Margarita
Dip your serving glass into coarse salt. Then combine ice cubes, 4 ounces of orange juice, 1 ½ ounces of freshly squeezed lime juice, 3 ounces of orange liqueur and 2 ounces of tequila in a large glass. Add 1 ounce of superfine or powdered sugar and stir until sugar is completely dissolved. Next add 1 ounce of grenadine which will sink to the bottom, do not sir. Garnish with a lime wedge.
