This Wine Country Real Wedding Was Simple and Beautiful

by BridalPulse

Newlyweds Ariel and Craig are proof that everyone deserves a second chance!

“My husband and I met at a bar, but it wasn’t love at first sight,” Ariel recalled. “We went on a few dates, and although he was a hottie, I was convinced he wasn’t dating material.”

As fate would have it, the same night the two met, Ariel’s best friend and Craig’s friend met as well and started dating. Eight months later, Craig was finally able to wear down Ariel’s preconceived idea of who he was, and show her he could be The One.

The proposal was just as unexpected and intimate. After a long week at work, Craig texted Ariel to call him on her way home. This weirded her out, as she always called regardless.

“It was just odd enough that for a split second, I thought he might propose!” Ariel said. “I got teary-eyed from the fantasy then quickly told myself that I was being dramatic and pushed the idea out of my head.”

She was totally right, though, for as soon she arrived home, she was met with rose petals, candles and music. Craig also shortly got down on one knee!

“We wanted a wedding that was beautiful yet comfortable,” the bride explained. “The venue was so beautiful that it didn’t need a lot of added decor.”

Ariel’s love of crafts spun off into many DIY projects: stenciling the parasols and making marquee signs, to name a few. To play off a running gag, they created their own mascot for additional photo booth fun.

Craig and Ariel chose to use their wine country location to their advantage.

“We had a grape and a wine bottle,” Ariel recalled. “Along with a personalized label which our friend made us.”

The couple’s favorite part from the wedding, though, came at the very end. The DJ played Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believing” as the last song, and everyone of all ages rushed to the dance floor to dance!

“Everyone took turns dancing in a circle and people who had never met were leaning on each other and singing and dancing!”
