Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Officially Requested This Wedding Gift
They’ve officially requested this royal wedding gift.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry may be devoted to honoring royal wedding traditions like using stamped Welsh gold rings, and packing rather depressing outfits on their honeymoon, but the couple is downright inspiring when it comes to their requested wedding gifts. And yes, before you ask, they’ve actually put out a formal request for their wedding gift of choice — and it’s not a stand mixer or these popular stackable pots and pans.
Kensington Palace actually put out the royal couple’s formal wedding gift request via Twitter, informing the public of their desire for charitable donations instead of traditional presents.
“Prince Harry & Ms. Meghan Markle are incredibly grateful for the goodwill they have received since their engagement, & have asked that anyone who might wish to mark the occasion of their wedding considers giving to charity, instead of sending a gift,” the official statement explained. The tweet went on to link to a Royal Wedding Charitable Donations landing page that lists seven organizations the Prince and Meghan have chosen to lend their public support to.
“The couple have personally chosen 7 charities which represent a range of issues that they are passionate about, including sport for social change, women’s empowerment, conservation, the environment, homelessness, HIV and the Armed Forces,” Kensington Palace shared.
While this type of wedding gifting may not be feasible or the norm for the average couple, we’re obviously very excited to see this beautiful royal couple engaged in acts of kindness and sharing.
