Big wedding bouquets are having a major moment.

If you’re set to be married in 2018, you can plan on ordering one of these ultra-luxe and super big wedding bouquets. While dress styles may be simple, downplayed, and understated for the year, bouquets are heading in the opposite direction.

“When it comes to bouquets, bigger is still the trend.¬† Currently, we’re seeing lots of mixed textures in larger sized bouquets,” shares¬†Victoria Ahn, owner of Designs by Ahn, a top floral artistry company in New York City.

“Some of the big colors right now are more unexpected combinations like mauve and black, or dusty rose and lavender. Brides who prefer a more neutral palette are going for white and green, and fall brides are going for blue and deep red.”

If you’re wondering which flowers play best in these trendy big wedding bouquets, Ahn suggests starting with the expected blooms like garden roses, peonies, and ranunculus as staples, and then mixing in uncommon stems like protea, bunny tails, rice flowers, blue thistle, and scabiosa. A big bouquet of flowers is a dramatic statement no matter the color scheme, though.
“Adding flowers like these will be an interesting touch, bringing more unique textures and depth to the bouquets.”

When it comes to tying trends, Ahn suggests classic silk ribbon, citing that it’s the real perennial in in the flower world.
