Ample Hills Created Royal Ice Cream to Honor The Royal Wedding (and they’ll ship!)
Royal ice cream sundae, anyone?
Are you ready for royal ice cream? We hope so, because Ample Hills Creamery has had something of a cult following for years — their original location on the border of Park Slope in Brooklyn, NY has long been so popular that even on the coldest, wettest of days, there’s sure to be a line around the block. So it makes sense that they’d see a kindred spirit in another type of cult following — the Royal Wedding.
Ample Hills has created God Save The Cream, a pun we can’t help but love, in honor of the upcoming nuptials. According to Ample Hill’s, it’s a “smooth lemon ginger ice cream made with pieces of house-made elderflower wedding cake and buttercream frosting.” Dare we say this may be even more delicious than the Royal Wedding PEZ candies that recently debuted?
For anyone who has been living under a rock the last few months, this ice cream is in direct homage to the cake for the Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding, a lemon elderflower flavor in direct contrast with the royal tradition of serving fruitcake at such occasions. Of course, we assume the ginger in the ice cream is in reference to our beloved Harry, who is perhaps the world’s most famous ginger.
You don’t have to live in NY to get this flavor though, Ample Hills is shipping it nationwide in its “Keep Calm & Berry On” four-pack of pints, which includes two pints of “God Save The Cream,” one pint of “Strawberries & Cream,” and one pint of “Snap, Mallow, Pop!” — and we imagine it’ll taste just amazing on top of Dunkin Donuts’s new Royal Love Donut.
Order it now and you’ll have it in plenty of time for that Royal Wedding viewing party. Clearly this is Instagram-worthy.
