A North Fork Wedding Love Story: Alex and Haven Thorn
Alex and Haven married at Bedell Cellars on Long Island’s North Fork
Weddings on Long Island, New York’s North Fork, are typically lush and bright events thanks to the area’s many wineries, local vineyards, and laid back nature-loving locals — all reasons that drew grooms Alex and Haven Thorn to the area to plan their memorable warm weather wedding.
“Alex spent his summers growing up in the North Fork and Hamptons,” said Haven Thorn of the Bedell Cellars vineyards Long Island location. “His family beach home is there, and there’s no place more special to him than the North Fork. With a selection of beautiful vineyards on the NoFo, Bedell Cellars takes the cake with picture perfect white cottage, a private garden and majestic tree, and gorgeous sunset pavilion views – nothing beats it!”
The couple chose soft, on-trend colors for event.
“We worked with Sag Harbor Florists, a beautiful shop in the Hamptons, and used varying shades of nude, pinks and violet purples for the flower arrangements, which perfectly matched the groomsmen ties,” says Haven Thorn of the very on-trend nuptials. “My party wore light pink floral ties and Alex’s chose a deeper purple. Our bridesmaids dresses were pink, purple and nude cocktail dresses. The flowers were kept in gold urns that tied together our royal blue and gold dinner theme.”
The guest list, which was about 150 people deep, loved the couple’s whimsical details like added lawn games, signage, and the couple’s #GaymeofThorns hashtag, which was a colorful play on their deep love of the Game of Thrones television series.
“Planning this wedding was a team effort,” says Haven. “We had a wonderful full-service wedding planner and integrated caterer, so everything was blended and seamless. It took over a year to execute and fully plan, though, and it was basically my full time job.”

“Alex has always been so attentive to me and my life. He loves live and I love enjoying it with him, and you could feel it in our celebration.”
